Swaz doesnt make it for me. Swaz is massive on reverse.

Guys, I just got in an argument with the owner of this clasp. I in no way believe this clasp to be good. He claims he can supply me with a name of the holder. IMO who cares, I can grab any name off a list also. I understand there was only 1 maker of these spanges and in no way does this one measure up to it. If anyone wns a clasp simulair to this one please post it and I will eat my hat.

Hello, If someone were to offer me this item at a bargain price, I would have to pass. It just lacks quality and the prongs on the reverse seem, also the swas just seems odd. I am no super expert on these, but i dont get a good warm fuzzy feeling inside like I do when I look at original stuff.

Others will agree, always buy the item and not the story. I have been to many shows where dealers would feed me bs about how they bought directly from the vet and he has the original owners name when the piece was an obvious fake. If the item was real, then yes, it would make the item so more valuble and cooler. But if the item is a re-pop then the story (or name in this case) has also been added to make the piece more believable.

I didnt buy it..Its not even a question of it being for sale. I wanted to know if anyone had any examples with detail like this. Im looking at the nimmergut catalogand the example pictured in there looks a bit shoddy also (probably is)

I do not listen to stories and it is not about a deal going down, it is about me and a so called experienced collector having a difference of opinion. If Im proven wrong with an example close to this one, I will be the one with an apology to him.

It is not original pre 1945. I quick search on our forum will show how original honor clasp's look.
