EK2 MM 52, urgent opinions please

    Hello

I have just received this EK2 which is maker marked '52', for Gottlieb & Wagner, Idar-Oberstein. However, I can't find any other '52' EK2s to compare it against. Does anyone have one of these, or can anyone say if this one is ok or not? The cross is of three piece construction and has a magnetic core.

Any help or comments will be really appreciated.

While I'm posting, I have been going through some stuff I have had for a bit, and I'm happy with everything except with this EK2, pictures of which I'm posting after the shots of the '52' marked piece. I know what I think it is, (Floch), but do others agree? Please advise.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Regards
    David

The crosses above marked 52 are not Floch pieces.
The cross posted in post 4 and 5 is a Floch.

                    Hello Dan

Many, many thanks for that, it is really appreciated. I think mine matches yours, although yours appears to have a couple of die flaws not exhibited on mine, and yours is in better condition.

However, the '52' incuse stamp on the rings is a match, as are the date numerals and inner / outer beading corners. I think we have match !! So hopefully mine is a good one then.

Anyone else got one of these '52' crosses for further comparison, or anyone got any opinions on this please, and on whether the other cross I've shown here is a Floch.

                    Thank you.

                    Regards
                    David

                      Hello

Thanks for that Peter. The '52' cross I knew wasn't a Floch, I just couldn't find any '52' crosses anywhere to do a check against. The other, unmarked cross I was pretty certain was a Floch, especially after reading your excellent Floch article, but just wanted confirmation before consigning it into my fake drawer - which fortunately only hold three items !! I'll have to do a double check, but I think every single item from my colection has been posted on here over the past twelve months or so, and had a thumbs up. I feel very lucky to have only been stung on three relatively inexpensive items over the last few years.

                      Thanks again.

                      Regards
                      David

Is it the originality you wonder about? To me it looks ok. Does it have a zink core? I would not worry to much.

My "52" matches yours as well. I'll try to post pics of it later.
