I've been studying these images for over an hour now, trying to come to some conclusion in my own mind as to whether the frames with respect to Rick's original cross-hatched example (and George's), and the W&L examples could be from the 'same' dies. The corners certainly are different - no doubt. I'm trying to envision the degredation of the dies, over time, from the sharply detailed cross-hatched examples, to the less detailed W&L examples, and I'll admit that I'm seeing too many differences to say that the W&Ls might be 'later' examples from the same dies as the cross in question. And believe me, I'm not trying to cast aspersions on the cross in question...it's just that I'm unable to reconcile the presence of the scrunched beading flaw that appears in all of the examples. It seems like too specific an anomaly to appear in different manufacturer's dies by chance. Here's a wild conjecture, but perhaps the same Engraver made both the W&L and Juncker dies, and the scrunched beading was his signature?

I do still consider myself a 'newby' with respect to all this, so you may take my suggestions with a grain of salt, and I won't mind at all being 'set straight'. I'm just trying to be analytical.

            Tim

I think you have a winner.
Your cross has all the features I want to see in a Juncker.

Take a look at my cosses in post 1 to 4
(I give 1 away to Ben ... I don't know wich one anymore).

                http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...hlight=juncker

Your cross has the same frame as the left EK.
And the core (mine/Ben's is not magnetic) and both rings like the left EK.

Both crosses of George look like good Junckers to me also.

                Best regards,
                Luud

I can only give you information on the left EK2 in the pictures.
It's the magnetic one with the # in the frame.
The non-magnetic is in another collection now.

                    It's weight is 20.7 gram.
                    Size is 44,1mm by 44,0mm.
                    Thicknes is 4mm.

                    Regards,
                    Luud
