Iron Cross 1st Class w/screw attachment

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to know the iron cross 1st class award, did they only have a pin attachment or did they have a screw version? I'm sorry but I don't have a pic.

Hi, the EKI was pin backed in it's awarded form. The screw backed versions were all private purchase examples.

Hi,

As Ade said the screw back EKI was a private purchase pieces, I think they were most popular among front line or active troops as they were less likely to get lost.
