I just bought this ribbon from a seller on Ebay that claims it's '39-'45 manufactured ribbon. In the first place it doesn't feel like the real ribbon. I have bought dozens of full-length ribbons from Detlev years ago for 4 EURO apiece, and I know what real ribbon feels like. This ribbon's outer black edge seems too wide, wider than the white strips in the ribbon. And it's too limp.
I found a thread someone started on EKII ribbons in the search feature. I see the same weave in the piece I have that someone previously condemned in the thread. I gave it the blacklight test, OK. I burned a piece of thread from the ribbon, OK. But there's just something about this ribbon that doesn't seem right.
Here's a shot of my ribbon to illustrate the wider black outer strip. The second photo is of the bad ribbon in the older thread. Any thoughts?
