      Hi,

Knowledge of 1914 EK1s helps, but the shape of the pin in Post#5 is classic Meybauer and there are standard sized 1939 EK1s marked L/13 which share the same pin.

The Meybauer 39 screwback EK1 I personally have never seen before (excellent to see though!) but this same cross-shaped back plate and DRGM marked (patented) screwdisk are well know from Imperial Meybauer screwbacks.

Luud, you are indeed lucky! Great collection.

      Regards
      Mike

PS: The reverse of some Imperial Meybauers for comparison.

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!

          Great crosses you have there.

Schinkels are easily my favorite of all the EK's I have yet to get one but maybe i will come across one on e stand

I have seen a couple for sale on the 'net and both have non magnetic cores: is this common in Schinkel EK's or just a coincidence?

How do you tell if a second class EK is a Meybauer?

Thank you all for the compliments.

                Mike:
I couldn't explain it better then you, so I won't.
I even don't have to explain why my friends call me LuckyLuudje all the time

Till now this is for me also the only 1939 EK1 with the DRGM# 653146 I encountered.
All with all this is proof enough for me that these EK's are manufactored by Meybauer.
It's almost the same as if the cross was maker marked.

                PS: Impressing Meybauer crosses.
You almost make me considering to start collect imperial crosses!

                Giel:
                Thanks.
I hope you haven't any hard feelings for beating you with the Daisy 1st pattern by seconds.
To beat you by nice purchases is very hard and need to be very Lucky

Most of the (3 part) Schinkels that I have seen were magnetic.
So I think it is coincidence.

                Dan:
The core of the EK2 is different. But the design is very similar.
I just looked at a lot of things and details to determine this EK2.
                Design, paint,the finishing, details etc.
For example the development of rust below the (same) paint is the same by all three.
I will get a picture posted from some area's of the Schinkels.
I even think that all three frames are made by same die-set.

                Regards,
                Luud
