Andy, you can ask this question for every badge, every medal and on what are we basing here? What constitutes wartime versus postwar with all the other badges and medals made by all other companies.
Let me say it one last time concerning the Schickle KC.
I have compaired three types of Schickle Knights crosses:

    1. unmarked frame with L15 loop
    2. unmarked frame with unmarked loop
    3. unmarked frame with L/15 marked eyelet
---) no difference at all except the markings

So which did I not examine

    1. 835 marked on lower arm
    2. 800 marked frame
---) do they have another core? If so you can draw your own conclusions.

    Thanks

No Hank, that is the eyelet of a Schickle KC.
The eyelet of a 3/4 öse KC is 3/4 of a complete rounded eyelet. There is no 3/4 öse posted in this thread.

I wholeheartedly agree! That is why it is best to proceed w/ caution in this field of collecting. I have always suspected that there was a lot more post war production from original dies than many collectors realize. The Schickles are unique though. The existence of 57 versions w/ frames of the same die chracteristics as the wartime versions proves that there was post war production from original dies. That said, how do you know the difference w/ these? Detailed analysis has been done on the SLs which narrows it down a bit for this type, but there is no such body of evidence for the Schickles. I would not be entirely comfortable w/ that cross in my collection, but that is just me and to each his own.

            Okay, I say it again:

"Oese" is the german word for "eylet" or "ring".

What Hank posted is very well a "oese" since every RK has a 'oese'.

There is not connection between the 3/4 ring cross and the word "oese".

The Juncker dies could have survived the war also! It is not because the fabric was bombed and destroyed the dies did not survive!

It will be a lot harder to do a detailed analysis, comparison of the maker because of the rarity of this cross.

The Schickle KC is a very rare maker and for those who collect KC's undervalued.

If someone is not happy with his unmarked Schickle, unmarked with L/15 marked eyelet just sell it to me!!
But I know, the collectors who have one are not willing to sell their cross because they now they have an original Schickle KC.

                Best regards

Maybe it'sd really time to close this thread.

Running around L15 marked loops, undestroyed Juncker dies, Oesen and other mis-interpretations does not help.

There is no doubt in my mind that Schickle produced RK's during the war. There is also not doubt that they produced the 57 version with the same frame die.

                  There are two 'swastika' cores.

                  There are frames:

                  - unmarked Neusilber (not silver-plated as wrongly mentioned in a popular price guide)
                  - L/15 marked Neusilber (not silver-plated..)
                  - 800 marked (no L/15 anymore!)
                  - 835 marked (no L/15 anymore!)
                  - 835 marked with 57 cores

I personally doubt that Schickle had the time and opportunity to produce all theses models in the 14 month they had time to do so.

And with that I close this thread. If somebody wishes to discuss this topic further, please open an dedicated Schickle thread.

This thread was about Kevin's latest aquisition..
