Iron cross 1st class

Hello,

I recently got an EK of which I'm not sure at all.
My first intention was throwing it in the "fake box" but I'll ask anyway.
It's a three piece magnetic iron cross with a screwback. I don't see anything wrong with the details either.
But the backside does look... unusual to say the least, the metal looks awful.
Is it supposed to be like this or this just another fake?

The screw plate is not original with the ek it seems.

Ohh ... I don't know ... the cross looks fine to me from these pictures. It would help to post a couple straight on and not at the angle.

What ever you do please don't clean that wonderful 'been there' patina. This EK reeks of history.

If you need ever would like to move it on please let me know. I would be interested in it.
