    Is this a Floch?

Just found this cross while sorting though some stuff of mine and it looks different than all the other ones I have in that the way the frame is stamped is rather inaccurate and it has a large grove at the bottom of the cross on the frame.
It is stamped 55 but I still get a bad feeling about it unless this is usual for a J.E. Hammer & Sohne to be made this way.
    Anybody know?

    Thanks again

It's not a floch, but has some nasty beading.

No worry. It is not a Floch. I think the frame tooling came together twice during production. I call it a double strike. The cross is a genuine Third Reich cross in my opinion.

              Cheers.

Looks more like a badly made frame to me.

I agree with Peter. Most likely a double strike. I would hang on to that one.

                          Hello,

my experience with 55er pieces ist that most of them are badly manufactured.
Maybe that's the pieces produced in the later wartime but thats only a theorie from me.
I think i have maybe the most badly produced and inclined built "55".
Your piece is produced very good if you compare it with mine.
The most important is that it's original piece with nice patina.
Your piece is a nice example for a genuine "55"

                          Regards
                          Andreas

Here are the pictures of my "55"

                            Hello,

I do not find fault on this cross. It is a textbook 55. All fits, frame, core ....
