    Cased Souval EK1

    Hi Folks,

I thought I'd show the latest addition to my EK collection...a cased Souval EK1 (unmarked). Based on info gathered from the forum, it appears to be textbook in all it's details...I hope you will agree, and thanks for looking!

The core exhibits the fat, low swastika, and dipping '3'...

Is this considered to be an 'older' style pin?

The die flaw in the beading...perhaps a bit smaller than I've seen in other examples...

Again, the embossed 'DB' number, and pencil marked number...

It may not be apparent from the scans, but the 'DB' number on the base of the case (2420) is actually different than the 'DB' number on the insert (2597). Should this be considered an issue?

The information that I was able to gather from this forum, which assisted in my decision to acquire this piece, I consider invaluable! I'd just like to offer thanks to all those that contributed their previous examples and discussions. If given the 'thumbs up', perhaps this thread will also contribute to that documentation in some small way.

Very nice textbook Souval, and imo made late war time.

                              Hi,

very niye example for a Souval Cross

The numbers (base and insert) must be different. This numbers stands for the parts. The bases of the D&B Cases ever have the number 2420 and the inserts ever have the number 2597.
                              It's the product Code.

                              Regards
                              Andreas
