    Schinkel production question

    Hello all,

Are EK_2's in the Shinkel form one piece or are they three piece in construction? I just heard a rumor that they were one, and I have never owned this version of the EK_2 and wanted to know what to look for. I have had a Shinkel EK_1 before and that was three pieces as normal EK_1's are.

Please let me know either way. Thanks.

They are both one-piece constructed and three-piece constructed.

          Hell again,

George, I want to thank you thus far.

Were they thought to be produced by the same maker? Why would they make them different?

For the what it's worth dept.

Schinkel EKIIs may have been made by more than one maker. There are two types of cores known. The difference is in the date numerals. One type has 'balls' on the ends while the other type does not.

Here are two obviously different examples, presumably by different manufacturers.

                Yup, that's them.

We can also include the Schinkel "B" style in the mix as yet another type.

And don't forget the standard three-piece type with either magnetic or non-magnetic cores.

George, do any of your schinkels have a hump on the top arm, where the small ring attaches? Also, are there any 1914 ek2's with humps on the frames? Thank you! Charlie

I thought that this could be a good moment to bring this “puppy” back from the shadows…

                            99

                            Hello,

So does everyone agree that '99' manufactured some of these?

What other firms are thought to have produced this medal?
