    dear upbeek,

i just turned 21 and i collect for 5 years, so i never had the opportunity to get things directly from a vet, especially not a cross like this. therefore i have no proof for sure.
i only like this sort of cross and would immediately buy it.

I know that a lot of one piece EK were made in Spain for the Blue Division vets after the war. I don´t have any experience in it and I haven´t pics, but just a suggestion: May be this one of these crosses?
        Regards.

As far as I can see on the edges where the silver plate lecks is the metal of the cross brass.

I have watched with interest what Peter has shown and written.
Thereupon I have checked another one piece EK1, please see the thread below,
          http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=148702

I know this is a other than the shown here but I think it goes here more about the different in the dimensions. This cross (1st class) have also a differece in the cross arms from 1 mm on the ends like the here dicussed one and I think the depicted Schinkel is without any doubt.

It does not left my alone with diffrence in the demision and I have checked up all my one piece crosses and have detected that all have a diffrence in the demision from 1 - 1,5 mm.
Well, I want to assert that this difference in the demision is quite correct by one piece crosses.
I wonder whether other Gents can detect the same phenomenon.

The globs between the numbers, the shiny-epoxy looking sheen to the paint, and the uneven beading are all present on my schinkel type, magnetic ek2. Now I am suspicious of it! Has anyone ever tested the paint on these? I seem to remember reading something about this. Charlie
