War Merit cross 1st class no swords special size

    Hi everybody,

I´ve posted this one on the e-stand.
IMO it´s ok but I think it needs to be discussed.

Thanks in advance for your opinions,

Is that a "4" on the back?

        If so ... that's Strike 1.

Don't happen to have any more pics of the hinge and catch from a closeup angle?

Strange one for sure! If this is a fake why would any faker make a KVK so small? I like it personally

Size plays no role in this piece being a fake.
I believe they should look like this:

Yes I am aware of the standard 4 set up but since this is so small it may be fair to assume that the manufacturer had to use something else.

For what it's worth, I have a "special size" SA Sports Badge marked 4 in a box. It's about the same size as the WMC shown above, die stamped, with nice detail on the front and quality fittings on the back. I can't be 100% certain of it's authenticty, but a couple of the forum SA collectors liked it.

In my opinion the KVK isn't original, nor is the SA badge

....so were any such small KVK's made in the TR period then?

Terry, have you ever seen one before or mentioned in any litterarure . If this is not enough, there are plenty of fishy details on these two badges to dismiss them i.g. that crudly made "4" and the off centered swastika. Next in line will probably be a 1939 EK1 "prinzengrösse".
