    EK2 spange L/21 - a fake?

    Gentlemen!

A seller is offering this EK2 clasp at an auction. It is marked L/21.

It seems to be a fake for me (can be the photo or me, but never seen 9's like those and the HK is rotated in the counter-clockwise direction a little), but thought it would be better to ask you about it.

    What about it?

I've never seen a real L/21 EK1 spange, and I think there's no solid evidence that they were made (some say yes, some no, but no proof)
This generally doesn't look too bad though, almost believeable, but I still would not buy it. IMO:repro.
the date box seems sloppy, and the pics are terrible!
try to get good clear, straight shots, and post them here, they'd still be interesting to see, but again, IMO: repro.
    regards

Actually the numerals are matching to one of DN's unmarked, but the pin is different. It'll be interesting to see if clear images could be shown. As Jon mentioned, no one have seen a real L/21 EK1 spange yet.... better to stay away.

don't you wish DN would do straight on shots!
yes, I'd say that's a match to the numerals, this is getting interesting

by 'sloppy' I was looking at the 'double edge' on the right, can't imagine what that could be.

but maybe this is good, it looks it, better shots needed all round, maybe the stamping is a later 'add-on', or maybe this is the first real L/21!!!
        regards

Doesn't seem the HK rotated to you? Isn't it a bad sign?
The auction is opened til Sunday, I try to ask the seller to make even sharper photos.

IMO the swastikas are the same for L/57 in other link and this L/21.

Hi Decker, could you post better pix if you can get from the seller?

I believe we all like to have more references for fakes...

                -

If I remember correctly all Förster&Barth-marked awards have had the L/21 in a small box.

There is an alternate, correct L/21 mark in a bigger relief (raised) font, used on their KVK Is.
I do not believe in that clasp.
                  Cheers, Frank
