This thread has been rendered pointless by the removal of the pictures, so if they're not reposted by later today I'll delete it.

                  800/4

Mine is an 800/4 S@L. It is similarily marked. I have talked too several dealers who believe that these crosses were made no later than the fall of 1943 based on award documentation. But again the neysayers can claim possibly more than one cross was. purchased by the awardee........ on your cross. Very interesting piece..J ...........Jimmy

                    Many thanks Jimmy!
EXACTLY when this or that is IMO impossible to say today.
Remember the KCs with 3/4 loop? The are early produced for sure, but someone here showed us pictures of very late KC-holders wearing it. But of course we don´t KNOW why a late receiptiant wore a very early cross.
It´s interesting to think about, and perhaps research, but dangerous to make an ultimate truth of. IMO.

                      S@l

It is my personal belief in looking at these RKs that you must look at the quality of strike and finish. If the piece looks like it would be a disgrace to be on a German uniform then it is in all probability a post war strike. Also on the later ones after 1941 gotta be magnetic. Just my opinion............Jimmy
