Opinion on a EKII and ribbon bar

    Friends,

I'm outside my collecting interest with these items. (I prefer field gear )

Please can you give your opinion on the following EKII and the two ribbon bars?

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers

    Ian

All look good. I am not too familiar with ribbon bars, but it needs to be turned so the EK ribbon is on the left, and the westwall ribbon on the right. Looks kinda "too new", but not sure on that.

              Hi Hank,

Oops I took the photo of the ribbon bar upside down!

Thanks for your comments on the rest of items.

              Regards

              Ian

Hi Ian have to say the EK looks good , but as for the Ribbon bars have to say im not that keen. West wall ribbon looks like a repo, pin to the reverse looks a little thin (or is that the pics). Does it bend easy?. As for the reverse material and stitchining for me it does not ring true.

                    Hi mrg,

Thanks for your comments, I too was uneasy with the ribbon bars, my main concern with them was that they look\feel new. I will check the pin too see if it does indeed bend easy.

                    Regards

                    Ian

Hi German awards, in answer to your question everything, look of the core, frame, beading, letters, colour of the paint and other things. Best advice i can give is go through as many EK threads as you can, look at the fakes and the originals, you will pick it up in time. Not as good as having the piece in your hand but its all you can do. Buy a couple of books also they will save you a fortune in the end. All the best.
