EKI Broken pin...Advice please!!!

My latest purchase has just arrived.It's an EKI mm "26".Unfortunately,the pin has come away from it's housing.It looks like the thin metal (on the pin) that wraps around the locating pin on the housing has snapped at some point
My question is,would it be worth me taking it to a silversmith for repair,or should i leave it as it is???
Your advice is much appreciated .

I would wait to find a totally knackered 26 ek1 and use the pin from that, I don't think any jeweller would be able to fix it and make it look any thing like it did.

Well, I'd leave it as is. It's a fabulous cross, and in my eyes would decrease totally in authenticity and history, if you go mixing and matching, or doing any contemporary mending.
It looks great from the front anyhow. If the pin is fully loose, maybe a small blob of unevasive glue (which can be peeled off) just to hold in place. Here's an L/19 of mine found in a much worse state, same problem, glue used...

Thanks Jon...I don't mean to sound stupid but what exactly is "unevasive" glue?!! Could you perhaps give me a brand name?

I'll have a look around for it (I stole it from my wife)
it's one that sets, but still flexible, comes off easy, and doesn't mark

A bit of glue to hold the original pin in place? It sounds like the perfect compromise solution!

Thanks George .Just waiting on Jon to let me know which is the best type of glue to use...don't want to use anything chemically damaging...like bubble gum for example

typical that I can't find it anywhere to make sure (just moved house) but I think it was 'paper-use' UHU in a tube. Which makes sense, as it easily peeled off metal. Here's another pic of a blob on the hook of the L/19. It's clear too.
When it turns up I'll double check
