IMO we can find 2 pin systems on L/13 EK1's... the type illustrated above, which I'll name the 'early type' and a more normal pin as found on for example Seba's - which was discussed some time ago. There could also be 2 dies used, who knows, but I'm confident that Robert's EK is original, pre May 1945.

      Thank you for explain it.
I think me too there were 2 or more dies of L/13, as we can see, mine is come from another die of the example shown in the library of this site.

rich, I don't understand if mine is first type or second, I feel it's an early type looking the material, style of svastika, a bit voulted in the center, copper film, 1939....what do you think?

I don't really know which type came first but if I were to guess I would say the type shown by Robert. I'm basing this guess on Meybauer Imperial flight badges having a similar style of pin. Pure guessing though!

I also have one of these (unmarked). I'll try to post some pics of it later.

                  The P M family...

Good evening Gentlemen, here is my PM, for comparison ( sorry, didn't have time to crop) ... I have to agree with Ivan.. I've never seen this type of maker mark before, which doesn't mean that it didn't exsist, but looks a little out of place on a P M..
                  Warmest Regards ... John

                    Hi IVAN

May I ask for the picture for the front of your L/18 EKI? I want to compare it with my EKI.

                    Thanks
                    BP

and here in its case marked LDO and L/13. I have the case marked with full name too but is not the case to put because is egual as Rich's case.

                            Hi J Temple-West and Ivan

Thanks for your kindly help. I have a EKI with an unclear maker's mark. It looks like L/18, L/16 or L/13. So I asked the request. Thanks you all let me have the chance to access your examples.

                            Cheers
                            BP
