It's a Luftwaffe Honor Clasp. I don't know if it is original, but the ribbon does look wartime to me.

Is this honor clasp in the right forum? Can anyone else help me identify if it is good or bad? If more photos are needed I cna post some. Thanks to all.

Dont think this is a good one, from memory these should have flat pins on the reverse not round also the bottom of the wreath near the acorn should have a small protusion where the eagle look it is perhaps flying over a mountain. Do a search and you should find what you are looking for.

Gordon williamson states in his book that both round and flat prong attachments are known. However his photo's also show the point in the bottom center of the wreath, and I do not know wether there were variants of them. Could you post some measurements?
Please do post foto's of the army one.

I don't have digital calipers so i'm not sure how accurate my measurements would be. I will post the army as well shortly. Here is another photo or two. Thanks

Measurements should be 24.5mm or 1 inch diameter and 3.5mm for the wreath, it is estimated that as many as 30,000 were issued, so variances like that thighy at the acorns would be there?

Variances...could be. I can accept it is fake, but I still have not run across photos of an aknowledged exanple to campare it to. at least a nice crisp closeup of one with known provenance...still looking.

                      Cheers

                        Alex,

There are plenty of pictures of the accepted examples shown on the forum and site here are some

                        http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ead.php?t=8115

                        http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/serv...affe_clasp.htm

There may be variences but unless you are an expert on these I would suggest that you stay with the classic flat pin example which is universally accepted.
