    DKiG award questions

    Hello all,

I don't know exactly how to ask this, so just hang in there and try to find my question.

Were early examples of the German Cross, i.e. Godet, heavy examples more likely to be awarded to Officer's and such vs. the everyday brave soldier?

For instance, a lightweight Zimmerman is thought to be a late war example, and was this more of a "soldier's" award vs. that of an Officer?

I am just asking in General, but what kinds of DKiG's were more likely to be awarded to an Officer vs. a proven brave soldier?

Please let me know either way and thanks for thinking about this one.

No, pieces will be rendered to his recipiants when awarded without any rule, just depending on supply, I have seen Junkers awarded to soldiers and light Zimmermanns awarded to Generals, just a matter of what type was in existences at the Headquarters when the award news arrived.

Looking for DKiG Heer winner Soldbuch who also won the TDB and/or CCC, specially in Silver.

      Hello,

Thank you. That is exactly what I wanted to know, but was this typical?
