    New Bender German Cross book

My 3rd volume with Bender Publishing on German Cross holders of the SS and Police is at the printer, should be available in a few weeks. 425+ pages and heavily illustrated as were the previous 2. Always looking for SS or Police German Cross holder photos, full credit in the books for those who help. Early photos also of interest before holders got the award. Those with anything of interest can e-mail at

Er, I might be pushing my luck here but if you want to sell something you may like to consider the E-Stand for your wares...

    Have a nice day.

I don't see anything wrong with Mark mentioning his book here.

The post is to 1) ID myself and 2) a request for material for my next and future German Cross books. I write them, I don't sell them. I assumed collectors might want some previously unavailable knowledge contained in the book (and all others I've done).

          Fair enough.

          I stand corrected.

At Rathau on the Aller, the CO of 5th Royal Tanks advanced on foot to take a cautious look into the town before his tanks moved in. He encountered one of his own officers, a huge Welshman named John Gwilliam who later captained his country's rugby team, 'carrying a small German soldier by the scruff of his neck, not unlike a cat with a mouse.' The Colonel said: 'Why not shoot him?' Gwilliam replied in his mighty Welsh voice: 'Oh no, sir. Much too small.'

Well, at least he does something with the info he collects here.
And that is something that many people can enjoy and use.

Personally I think he is a quite nonchalant person (I once wrote him and he didn´t bother to answer), but that´s another story.

Under all circumstances he produces interesting books and that is more than most of us can say.

Mark, saw you book in a bookshop in Melbourne, Australia. Nice to "meet" you. Are you going to publish one on regular infantry. I'm interested in one particular winner in IR 18, Russia.
