Kuban shield

Hi,I've just purchased this Kuban Shield from the e stand. Its of a type I've been looking for for a while so was pleased to get it. On looking closer at the shield the 'steps alongside and below the Novorossijk lettering look very badly formed and theres is a 'shadow' line next to the steps. The lettering is also quite rough looking almost double stamped. I've looked at other examples of this shield and the ones that have close enough pics don't seem to show these characteristics. I'm aware that there are some good fakes around of Kuban shield so the question is are these observations typical of this shield or should I be concerned, thanks for your help,

Paul's shield is indeed a very nice original shield.
I believe that this is a late version of this type of shield.
Easy to recognise by the re-strike (easy to see at the letters) and by the wide prongs.

So Paul's shield is a textbook example of this type.

I'll post a shield from my collection to compare.
