Buried in a Pith Helmet

A customer brought in a nice second pattern pith. He tells me that he even found the "Afrikakorps strap" under the "red part". Anyway when I took a look there it was where he had safely tucked it partially back in.

I don't think that there is any way to tell who put it there originally but I have a feeling that it was the German since the CT is unused.

I know that I am going to be looking a little harder at all the piths that come in.

Whats interesting is that its a second pattern tropenhelm and a later tan version AKCT, both thought not to be issued to the DAK.
Still nice surprise.
