    Kreta Cufftitles for opinions

I would like to know if this is an original wartime Kreta cufftitle.

I have searched but I have so far not found a perfect match on the details of the letters and the "leaves"

Is there any thread listing the diffrent accepted patterns ?

    Thank you

    /Bjorn

For me the reverse of the lettering is one of the best ways to tell if its original. The Afrika ct is fine. As far as the Kreta ct would like to see better pics of the lettering from the reverse.

As you pointed out in your previous posting number 2. You are correct, this is indeed a variation to the normal version which doesn't have the R joining at the upper loop along with other questionable features. I am hesitant. I am not too experienced but, I believe that you should either wait for more experienced opinion leaders or perhaps pass.

Never feel rushed to purchase something like this unless you are proof positive that it is indeed an original.

                Best Regards,

The Kreta is certainly an odd variation. I would also focus on the base fabric, which is not something I have seen on a textbook version.

Thank you for the input and good advice guys!

Well I stayd up along time last night and searched through page after page of Kreta cuffs and there seems to be only three variants that are getting the and these are also the only variants I have found at the big dealers sites.

These are the variants that I have managed to identify
                    * Kreta with 9 leaves
                    * Kreta with a bulky T, 7 leaves in a tight arrowhead like form.
                    * Kreta with a straight thin T with 7 leaves in a more spread out form then the above,These have RBNr stamp so latewar if I rember correctly?

                    Is there more approved variants?

I have made a promise to buy this cuff but only if genuine so if anyone else have some info let me know

                    Thank you

                    Bjorn

There is also this version which I believe is original. It is different in the embroidery than the three versions you mention above. The one I post is discoloured and more yellow than white.

It has the same white base cloth texture as we expect to see on the verified originals patterns.

Frankly, I am not very keen on the Kreta cuff that started this thread.

Hi Felix your seems to be a combination of the two diffrent designs that I found in my mini research.

The text is very simular to the bulky T but with the leaf design of that that is found on the Straigt T

I attached a picture where I try to illustrate what I mean. I marked the Arrowhead shape of the leaves (tight together) and the more spread out form of the leaves in the straight T version.

This is by no means any great research its just my conclusion after comparing the pictures of 30+ Kreta cuffs.
