    Krim Shield Opinions

Hi all...I've had this Krim in my collection now for a while and thought I'd post it up for opinions. It's similar to the type shown in Sascha Webers book but not to sure what's going on with the date numerals.
I guess it's possible the shield's been damaged at some point.

    Hi Peter
Your shield and the shield as shown in the book are different
The difference is not only a date, the head of an eagle, the details of the peninsula, the swastika, and another set of differences
    This is another shield
You can show the reverse of the shield?
    Regards Andrei

      Hi Peter,

You know I was never a fan of your shield and thought it might be a fake of the one shown by Weber. The details are pretty poor on the one you have when compared to the other.

Perhaps Andrei is correct and this is a different shield, but the similarities are pretty striking IMO.

Is there no stippling on your Krim Shield or is it just the lighting ?

            .....

Thanks for the comments guys. In fact the biggest difference that I've just noticed is the distance between the wreath and coastline.
here's a close-up of the Black Sea area.

                  Hi Patrick!

Yes, I would agree that this is the "more correct" shield to use for comparison.

Nice example and one I have not seen. Do you have full front & back views?

Still, I can see quality differences in the strike between the shields posted originally by Peter and this one by Patrick and "think" one is probably a copy of the other. My opinions only.

Thanks for sharing and adding to the thread Patrick!

Yes, and I even commented in the thread, though not about the shield in question. I should have looked at it more but thought it was the shield posted in Weber's book and it had already been given the thumbs up.

                      That will teach me...

                        ......

Here's a comparison between the two.

It's still not the same shield though. Look at the 4 in 1942..

Exactly, and IMHO, a not too well executed copy of the original.
