      I have several of these so called Maedicke shields, both with pins and side tabs.

      Here is a typical Maedicke shield with the typical "bad metal" look on brownish backing cloth.

          Here is a so called Maedicke shield with pins also in a "perfect" condition. Very, very rare shield. I only know the existence of 2 of these shields.

            Hello Pascal,
            beautifully to read which from you to!
            That sign with the split pins really differs in a great many details from with the lateral split pins!
            Very beautiful pieces!
            It is one of the few variants which I still searches!

                  This has to do with the makers mark you can see on the back. A diamond shape square with an "M" in the middle.
                  This is the same mark you'll encounter on a certain type of KM button. A batch of these KM buttons were found in a cardboard box from Maedicke.
                  Until today however no 100% evidence has been found that it was indeed Maedicke who used this makers mark.
