    Kuban Shield Stickpin

I saw a Krim Shield in the forum through the search but haven't seen a Kuban one. The EK close-ups are in the Crosses forum

        Hi Chad,

I'll probably get a lot of flak for this, but I don't believe any 16mm Kuban shields were produced pre-45. The reason for this assumption is the fact that it was not instituted until Sep. 1943 and the production of the 16mm size was banned in Juli 1943. The retail shops were closely monitored and I don't think they would risk their license by offering a forbidden item, nor do I think a producer would spend money on something that couldn't be sold. As a sidenote, I saw a shoe-box full of these Kubans at a shop in Paris 15 years ago.

        cheers
        Peter

Hmm, interesting, thanks for the note Peter. Makes sense based on what you're saying. I guess there is just very little research overall done on this. But this sounds like a good start.

          Anyone else have info?

for what it´s worth i do agree 100% with what Peter stated.
            Regards

Don´t throw away your fake WB´s! Get in touch with me.
I collect them for reference purposes for the benefit of the hobby (for the right "fake" price of course).

Thanks Hans, didn't see this post until today.

Ya, I begrudgingly agree. If what he says is true, then it makes sense. Oh well. Only a $25 loss. But still a hit to the ego

Any thoughts on the EK one? I didn't get a single reply on that one:
