This shield has been in a collection since 1989.
The backing seems to be changed.
Is this a orginal shield, and if so, who is the maker?

Hallo SweSA,
This is known original shield.
As for the maker, it was thought for some time that this shield was made by Deschler.
When I was doing some research for my armshield book I found out that this type of shield was probably made by another maker.

Yes, I am almost certain to know the maker of this type. I want however to do more research into this before making it public.
