    New Shields!

I got these, less the tombak Navy Narvik, from a collection I bought.

The tombak Navy Narvik was purchased at the SOS from my friend, John Suprin, who remembered I was looking for a nice example.

Bob, are you sure the Cholm is good?

                  Don,

This was taken from a destroyed tunic out of Kalamazoo Michigan. It is the classic iron shield as all iron shields should be. It is identical to the other shield I got from a veteran many decades ago. Unfortunately, most of the silvered finish has gone and the iron has oxidized to near black.

Cheers Bob........superb Narvik.....I think the Cholm's ok just can't see to much detail on the eagles head.

Well I don’t think the Cholm looks good at all. In fact IMO it looks a lot like the shield posted by Bob some time ago in this thread Interesting Cholm Shield
But now without the 2 holes……

                          Cholmshield

                          Hello,

Based upon the unclear picture i think that Pascal his observation is correct. This is of the same type as presented before. Iff so then the shown shield is a Fake.

                          Cordial greetings,

No Peter, IMO the Cholm shield in post #7 of this thread is the same type as first one in this thread Interesting Cholm Shield
Just compare the wear around the edges......
