Hi Patrick,
This a copy of a Deumer type shield. You can recognise this fake by the space between the wreath and the bar.

No problem Patrick. They look indeed very close. Was the picture taken from a different angle then it was almost impossible to tell.

Be careful about pristine shields that were never issued. Perhaps there were some found in storage, but most of these things out there were issued and kept, or picked up by Allied vets, so the majority of badges should have some wear and tear to them.
