Still has the remains of some burned material sandwiched between the backing plates.

This style of Demjansk shield is the only version or type to use the side tabs?

Do you know of any others with the cloth backing? With or without the paper
or simulated leather covering the backing plate?

Would be curious to learn more about this variation.

Hi Howard,
Yes, to my knowledge this is the only type of Demjansk shield with side tabs.

Most of the shields of this type can be found with LW cloth but NOT all.
I only know this type of shield with paper backing.
