I have been asked if Assmann made 57 KVK's.....
Well, they certainly made the KVK1!!
The Assmann uses a version of the S&L KVK die, though it is thicker and heavier.
The finish is also different to S&L's being much "whiter" looking, but still with polished highlights!
The hardware is a mixed bag....an S&L open style hingeblock, a pin similar, but not identical to S&L's 3rd type. and Assmann's own round wire catch....
It is possible that variations on this combination of hardware may exist!!
Like many 57 Assmann pinback's, the backplate is marked with Assmann's stylised "A" mark........

So far, as far as I know, no KVK2 by Assmann has been positively identified....
They almost certainly did make them, but using S&L dies, as they normally did, they could probably be mistaken for S&L's??
Hopefully there will be some clues...possibly thicker like the 1st class, maybe a different Bronze finish, and if it is from a different working die to S&L main production run, different flaws, or maybe no flaws at all!!
The Assmann EK2 has similarly not been identified as far as I am aware, probably for the same reasons.......looking very much like an S&L
Hope that helps!
