    Post-War Spanish Cross *

In another thread members agreed this was a post-war piece (possibly S&L), and Tony asked if I'd post it here, and so I happily oblige!
(When I got this years back I thought it was a really nice piece, nice detail, but being unmarked gave me doubts)

Thanks Mike, we'll see what the guys think. As I said on the other thread I wasn't aware that S&L made these post war so we'll see what the consensus is. It certainly looks well made. A great filler until a TR one comes along.

Mike, that's a nice Spanish Cross you have there, I like it ! .....
to me, its rear hardware looks to be St u L ! it is known that they indeed made awards/medals with the swastika post war, not in great numbers I believe......it looks to be mid production (57er range) pin/hinge and catch...I take it it is a closed hinge block, as the quality of the die stamping is very good.....
      Prost ! Steve.

Not a problem, Tony! Yes, I loved the quality, but have my doubts I'll come across a reasonable TR version, so this will have to do until if/when
Thanks, Steve! I'm still learning about all of these manufacturers (and the '57 period is still foreign to me, no pun intended!). Yes, when I first got it I thought it was perfect but I guess since it's postwar it'll have to be a filler.
Matthieu thanks for the link! Looks like a nice collection there

No Mike, it doesn't have to be a filler, it's the first piece in your postwar/ 57er collection. Not a 57er itself it's still part of the S&L postwar family and not a crappy repro Now you have the chance to diversify your collection.
