    RAD bronze, silver & gold

    Hello,
I want to show you some really rare and not often seen 1957 awards.

    - Reichsarbeitsdienst Dienstauszeichnung für Männer in Bronze
    - Reichsarbeitsdienst Dienstauszeichnung für Männer in Silber
    - Reichsarbeitsdienst Dienstauszeichnung für Männer in Gold

    - Reichsarbeitsdienst Dienstauszeichnung für Frauen in Silber

All four are the thick and heavy version, weight between 28 and 34g, thick between 4,1 to 5,1mm.

The silver and golden awards have polished highlights .

I hope you like them and you will post further pieces.

    Hi Pattex!!!
Very nice and scarce medals, in the case of the mens gold, I would call that one rare, as not many were made, the ones we see on Ebay etc. are nearly always the late collectors pieces, with no polished highlights, thin, light body and poor details and finish!
All yours look like quality, early pieces, and are very desirable!!
BIG thanks for showing, great to see these often overlooked medals!!!
I only have a couple of Bronze, one mens, one womens, and I think that's all!!

Wow, Pattex, all of them are lovely pieces - but the golden one as Nigel says is the best: early one with great looking high polishing !!! A true gem.

              Thanks to all!

@Nigel: VERY interesting pieces! Especially with the "double" embossing on backside of women RAD.

It's very quaint, you could find 4 or 5 very early CCC in gold until you find one very early golden RAD Dienstauszeichnung .

... but the price is much more cheaper .

PS: Sorry for my english, but I'm trying to revitalize it at the moment .

              best regards
              Pattex

Your English is great, and what you say is true, a Gold RAD, for man or woman is very rare in early form!!!!!!
Early Silver's don't turn up too often either!!!

                  Hi,

Very nice 57er RAD medals shown by all, especially the early pieces!

I have always found it somewhat "comical" that Germany produced medals with a shovel depicted (RAD/Westwall) during the TR era along with the 57er versions. I realize the shovel can be a soldiers "best friend" when entrenching, etc. but this is not really the purpose depicted on the medals produced.

Anyway, I have wondered if any other country has produced a medal during wartime with a shovel as a central feature?

                  @Pattex-no problems with your English!

In conclusion I submit the attached!

                  Best,

                  Jeff

Pattex, great set of early quality RAD medals, hard to find, especially early ones, the Gold grade is stunning !
                    Prost ! Steve.
