          Very nice once again Steve!!!
Early piece in great condition with a lovely looking bronze finish!!
Interestingly, as far as I know, no U-Boat clasp with the earliest style S&L "coke bottle" pin has been seen??
The 2nd style tapering pin, as on yours, seems to be the earliest we usually see on these??
          Great pair with the Silver!!!!!!!!!!

Really nice that you have both and they match very well!

            Best,

              Very nice Steve!

I have the same pair in my collection. Next to the KCs they are my favorite '57 awards.

              All the best!

              Tony

That is correct, there has never been one shown up. By now i think that u-boat clasps with the broad pin do not exist, S&L made these only with this pin. So we shouldn´t date them all "only" 60s.

Steve, great clasp Very well cut outs on the outer line and so i´d date that one really early.

Believe it or not I think I saw one of these on ebay awhile back. It went for a pretty good price. Tom

Are you really sure it was a good S&L ?

There are modern productions with a broad pin and sometimes with maker mark but i never saw a good S&L with broad pin. And believe me ....... i always have a look on these ones when they pop up.

Well I'm far from an expert on badges. It was ebay so I kind of just looked quickly. It was on ebay Germany about two weeks ago. So?????? Tom
