No 57ers here, but same period I believe?
Saw this one, liked the look of it, and bought it for a very reasonable price.......

The three medals are Red Cross Decoration in Silver, and Bavarian Red Cross Medals in Bronze & Silver.

There are a few things to help date the bar.............
The Bavarian Red Cross medals were introduced in 1957, in three classes.....
Bronze for 25 years
Silver for 40 years
Gold for 50 years
That was until 1972, when the Bronze class was dropped, and the Silver became the 25 year award, and the Gold the 40 year!
So this bar certainly pre-dates '72, the Silver Red Cross decoration has quite a low number 1253, and the construction of the bar and the materials used look to be of very good quality! The Red Cross decoration's were introduced in 1953.
So I would guess the bar was from the late 50's approx.???

Very nice pair ! S&L Made ? and what does the 1263 mean? Perhaps a date Dec. 1963 ??? Just thinking????? Tom

I believe the Red Cross Decoration is an S&L, the Bavarian medals, although unmarked, could well be Deschlers?
The Red Cross Decoration's were numbered in the early days, so "1263" is award number no. 1263!
