    DKiG with diamonds.............

Gentlemen, I thought I would put this up for discussion, a DKiG with diamonds, incomplete.....described as a "muster" example/sample....it has been doing the rounds on E-Bay for some time now at an outrageous price, over 1850 Euros
No, I am not nor will I ever be or consider buying it, posting for reference and discussion only !

    Sellers description:--

    Literal Google translation:-
"Beautiful DK in gold with diamonds, typical production of Steinhauer and Lück from Lüdenscheid. It is believed to be a unique pattern or sample copy (version with golden aureole)! The beam ends are silver plated (sparkling silver). In the ring, diamonds are framed, here I go by simili from (but have not tested). The back should be made of bimetallic (copper color under the silver plating). I do not have a badge seen in this way so if then extremely rare for sure! Thus, in the literature not to find sale therefore without warranty. Private sale, excluding any warranties, no returns. Article payable by bank transfer. All shipping risk of the buyer! Please ... look at my other auctions with medals, militaria".

    Prost ! Steve.

I say its a reworked piece, probably to boost sales.

On the back you can see the rivets have been re-struck ( or brand new ones ).
On the front, just look at the gold wreath. Looks like it was repainted whilst assembled.
Also the wear on the wreath does not match the same time frame as the hardware.

There is a similar piece on MIL321 with the swastika version ( maybe same piece ).

My opinion ... clear away from this one !

I think the basic's are original, but the wreath has been removed, and either holes drilled, "diamonds" added, and wreath put back on, or simply swapped for another!!
Now, a pretty worthless, spoilt piece I think!

Looks nothing like the original layout of the diamonds either.

I agree Nigel, anything to rip people off for the big money ! I'm sick of it and glad I'm done collecting. Between the crooks & the way to high prices on the good stuff, I'm glad to let others fight the fight ! Tom
