Just been having another look at the markings on the inside of the roll......
Any thoughts, on font style, wording, position, etc.

The piece of ribbon that I received with the fake BO is definitely the same width as this ribbon. Nothing like the quality of the 40mm that came with the S&L RK. I'll take a shot of it to compare this this lot. Does the spool look as though its been cut down? That would not be easy to cut cleanly.

Hi Guys!
I thought Tom meant that the actual cardboard roll was maybe originally wider, and it had been cut down, and then the later, narrower ribbon had been wound around it???
Don't know if that's whats happened, but its one possibility??????

Let´s hope that That would indeed also be strange, but I think we all agree that the odds are really not in favor for this role.
I would however not be surprised if it sold. You only need one to like it, and have the money to pay.

Yes, I agree Karsten, I think there are problems with this ribbon roll, don't know if the roll is original with a later ribbon added, or if the whole thing is wrong??
Its strange, but I don't think we've ever seen a roll of 57 period ribbon??
You would think that some would be out there??

I'm looking at the picture on this page and am suspicious of the saw marks running across the roll from the top of the shot to the bottom. Looking again at the word Ritterkreuz and even the date they look rather hand written. The other stamp seems to be ok, but is off centre, closer to the sawn off end. I really trust this at all.
