Well, welcome to the forum Andrew!
Firstly let me say, that if this thread is responsible for you, or any other seller, withdrawing fakes from sale, and hopefully learning a little more so that in the future sales of fakes can be avoided, then I am a happy man, and we have done a great job!
I can understand how you don't like to read bad things about your site, but there's no-one less popular among militaria collectors, than a seller who sells fakes as genuine! I also understand that you bought the items in good faith, but there is a wealth of information on the net, to help to tell good from bad, and with a little research such things can hopefully be avoided in the future!
The last time I looked, the majority of your 57 pieces were fake, including the EK RK's, KVK RK's, DK'S, etc. you have or had good early examples of S&L EK1 & 2's, can't remember the others without looking again, hopefully some of the other guys will chime in too!!
    -Nigel

Hello Andrew ! I'm just a member here on the 57 site. I would like to thank you for your response ! Money we all spend on this hobby makes us the way we are about fakes, and it's quite evident that goes for you also. It's very sad when we spend $$ and get something other than original. I'll say this, you are the first who has contacted us, and for that I thank you. (honest people impress me ) Please join our 57 group. We all work together and it's a fun group. "just a member" Tom

Novara, there is no picture or link. If you can at least post a link that would sort the problem. Welcome to the forum BTW

Sorry, as I am a novice here, I am not able to upload photos. I have just sent them to Nigel in a private e-mail, he is going to upload them I suppose.

                Gents,

Firstly thanks to Nigel for uploading.

The photos show this medal a bit more yellowish than the real.

What would you say about this?

                Thanks.

Andrew......In mid December 2013 you had the following for sale listed in your E-Bay shop...."German post WW2 1957 pattern Iron Cross Knight Cross cased (#271302241590) £399.99"...........
This was a Morigi fake 1957 RK.......it was discussed here on the forum, in this thread, and indeed one of the suspect RK's I had messaged you about via E-Bay.
This item was listed in fixed price format with a Best Offer option. On the 13-Dec-13 at 16:21 you accepted a Best Offer price, which sadly is undisclosed.......so below the £399 asking price.....
It was bought by E-Bay member n***r (246) who left the following feedback "Thanks! Everything OK!!!" he was clearly uneducated in this crosses origins.
This item can be bought now, direct from Nicholas Morigi's online shop for £123.45p (cross & box).
My question is, did or have you made any follow up customer service with the buyer of this item as to its true identity and offered any monetary compensation to n***r the buyer ?

                  Prost ! Steve.

                    Steve,

I don't want to lie: I did not.

That buyer bought only that cross from me.

I accepted his offer of 230 including international postage on 1st of December (and not on 13rd) after these messages below. I bought that cross for 200 Euro from Germany.

You have to know that I contacted my supplier the same day you messaged me and he completely convinced me about the originality, based on the long term business we had.

The buyer messaged me about the same cross on 30th November:

                    "Dear a..anderson,

Please could you tell me more about this iron cross ?.

Where are the documents proving its authentic and does it come with any photos ?.

Its a lot of money if it comes on its own mate thats all i respect your price however sir.

                    Thank you."

                    This was my response:

                    "Hello,

Thanks for your interest. These TPYE II. Iron Cross Knight Crosses (with non magnetic core) were made even in the 80’s. I heard that even in the UK they were produced too. Therefore I am selling this cross without Certificate of Origin.

Please let me know your e-mail address and I will send photos, if interested.

                    Best regards

                    Andrew"

I was confused about this topic after you message this is why I replied this to him.

I tried to look around how could I be sure about the originality of that cross. At that time I was not even aware that even my German Crosses I was selling were copies. However if you knew, what idiot messages I receive about even imperial items, you wouldn't believe it, so normally I do not pay attention to them but somehow I wanted to be sure about that particular cross.

That was the way I finally found your forum here and I can assure it was a fuc...ing bad feeling to read my own name in the Hall of shame section.

It wouldn't have been a big deal for me, if I had known that I am selling copies but I am coming from a family where trust is very important. I have never believed that a supplier who I am buying from ages, could sell me copies, I am still not aware whether he knew this or not.

However since I alarmed him about the situation here, he stopped responding to my e-mails.... this is a shame because we served together....

Anyway: at this stage I am creating threads to have all my 1957 awards checked by the guys here. I have already removed the German Crosses from eBay, the EK1-s and EK-s were seen genuine so they are still available.

The others will be coming too for survey.

I know you guys are collectors and you think differently than a dealer, I read posts even about my genuine items saying that they are overpriced. It is very relative, not all the buyers respects the originality. If you knew how many people buy genuine stuff even to barbalise them, you would get a heart attack.

A year ago a guy from the States ordered 90 (ninety) WW1 EK2-s to use them for his "art". Practically he glued them to a kind of "picture" with resin.... I saw it later, I was even feeling guilty.

Obviously it doesn't mean that I was tending to cheat, what I am saying, eBay is not a community of collectors. Some people ask me to send a gift to the grandpa, sending over 50 bucks and I can make the decision what to send. I would not even send something I sell for less than 50 Pounds.

I am not doing this activity for living, however I earn money on it, I like to spend time with medals but it was a mistake to extend my field, I should have joined to this forum BEFORE I listed ANY 1957er award!!!

Going back to the topic: I don't think I should do too much about this particular buyer, however I have a bad feeling about the others who might bought copies from me.

                    Andrew

Yes Mathijs, sadly too many of these around, the separate parts are all available, and I guess its easy to put a bar together!
I noticed that the "Deschler" DKiG was at 200 Euro's a couple of hours ago! But I missed the end of the auction, anyone know what the final price was??
