Interesting Double Stacked 11 Medal Stick Pin - DkIG

Hello, I am not too heavy into the 1957 stuff, but an interesting 11 place double stacked stick pin ended up in my hands:

German Cross in Gold, Iron Cross 1st Class, Iron Cross 2nd Class, Silver Wound Badge, Eastern Front Medal, Bronze Panzer Badge, Two Pre War Expansion medals, Two Tank Destruction Strips, AND an Afrika Cuff Title.

I have some more from this gentleman - but this is the start:

    Hi Erik!!
Thanks for showing us this nice stickpin, with a great line-up of awards!!
The two medals you described as pre-war expansion medals are two Italian medals, the Afrika Campaign medal, and the medal for military valor, rare to find on stickpins!!
Could you show us a photo of the reverse please, just wondering if there were any S&L "0" marks???
Also look forward to seeing other pieces from this group!!

Will do when I get a moment. This grouping came from an Afrika vet - a gentleman that was on the General Staff for Rommel. Aside from a few photos, I have nothing from the war itself, just this stick pin, his 57er EKII, his Bundeswehr Schirmutze etc.

Here is a photo of the vet (Oberst Wilhelm Kempf during the war:

Agree. A great stick pin with some rare awards attached. That's the most I've seen on one stickpin. Has anyone seen more than this??

Thanks for showing. Looking forward to seeing the rest.

          Regards,
          Rudy

Impressive grouping and a brave man indeed! It is fantastic to see such a large stick pin with a lot of uncommon medals.

DKiG awarded on 11 April 1944.

Did he end up as an Oberst in the Bundeswehr? His last WW2 rank was Oberleutnant (4 ranks from Oberst).

                Best regards
                Pierce

Yes, he served in the Bundeswehr where he ultimately achieved the rank of Oberst.
