    Deschler KVK1

    Hi Guys!!
This is a really special and rare piece, as now i have it in hand, i am sure it is a KVK1 by Deschler, as far as i know, its the first one seen from this maker!!!
Like the Deschler EK1's, the finish is'nt as nice as on an early S&L or Deumer KVK1, or at least it is'nt now, how it was when first made, i can't say, but i think what it lacks in frosting and mirror finish, it makes up for in patina!
This KVK is also quite a bit heavier than S&L or Deumer's weighing in at an impressive 29 grammes!!!
    Ok, time for some pics!!
When i first looked at the obverse, it was obvious that it was quite different to any 57 KVK1 i'd seen before.................

When i saw the reverse, the hardware was identical to my Deschler EK1's, same pin (only shorter) same hingeblock, and the same thin flatwire "C" shaped catch. quite crudely snipped and bent................

So there you are guys, IMO a Deschler 57 KVK1!!
Hope you enjoyed seeing this one, i dont know when the next one will turn up?
Also, having this in hand should help me to identify the Deschler KVK2

                    Deschler ??

Hi Nigel, I never knew Deschler made 57's !!! How long were they in production ?? Any idea of what else they made ?? I wonder if they made the RK KvK since they made so many of the war time ones ? Great pic's, and thanks for this "new to me" info !! Tom

                      Thanks Tom!!
I think Deschler were only in 57 production for a short time, maybe 58-60
So far, we now know of EK1&2, KVK1&2, and there is a DKiG attributed to Deschler, although there is also an "unknown maker" DKiG, which seems to me to use an identical catch to these, anyway, thats a thread on its own i guess!!

                        Hi Nigel.
You are a lucky man !
                        Where do you hunt ?

                        A very interesting example!

                        Congratulations.

                          Hi Maciej!! Thanks my friend!!!
I only really have one main hunting ground now, its one that everyone uses But theres more crap than good stuff unfortunately!!
Got lucky with this piece, as for some reason no-one put any decent bids on it............
