My old dear friend Artur ! He was my sponsor with the OdR to help me join the OdR Sammler's group and get me my stick pin. The two of us shared MANY a beer at his home back in the 70's. He never purchased a 57 RK...and always wore his 800 L/12 RK back to front. He will be 96 on the 31st of Dec. this year ! A wonderful man and I wish him the best !!!!!!!!! Tom

Fantastic ribbon bars shown by kfs above. I especially like the bottom one of post #3134: a stack of WWII distinguished TR awards, and at the end, the US Legion of Merit Commander's Award. I understand the context of it, but an interesting historical juxtaposition never the less .

Hello Buddy ! Yes. His unit surrendered to the British in Denmark in May 45. He was able to hide it in with his other small items. He told me that as it turned out the officers in his unit were not really searched very well and it was really never in danger of being taken. LUCKY !!!!! Tom
