      Did he ever tell you how he managed to keep his RK? I'm surprised it wasn't taken from him when he surrender.

        Fantastic ribbon bars shown by kfs above. I especially like the bottom one of post #3134: a stack of WWII distinguished TR awards, and at the end, the US Legion of Merit Commander's Award. I understand the context of it, but an interesting historical juxtaposition never the less .

          Hello Buddy ! Yes. His unit surrendered to the British in Denmark in May 45. He was able to hide it in with his other small items. He told me that as it turned out the officers in his unit were not really searched very well and it was really never in danger of being taken. LUCKY !!!!! Tom
