Is the article correct? It says "...an der das EK 2 zweimal vorhanden war..." [where the EK2 is present twice]. I wonder if they made that assumption based on the miniature orders bar that shows two EKs? But shouldn't one of the EKs represent the EKI -- especially if he did not wear the brest badge?

            Very interesting article Sepp.
Now we have the story behind this man.
The EK1 and DK is not proven.

On the medal bar there is for sure an EK 1 and EK 2.
The author did not know that better imo.
But he wears the EK 1 twice, in full size and as miniature.

If the history is correct there is more not correct on his mini medal bar.
But with only these information we should not evaluate this imo.

I just can't believe that a prominent guy like this who wears his medals all over a cassock would be so brazen as to wear stuff he shouldn't. Especially if he's taking other people's funerals and having his photo taken everywhere. I hope something turns up that confirms the EKI and DK. Surely others would pull him up on it if he wasn't entitled to the awards. I live in hope.

                Arthur,

Thanks! Based on your comment I looked at the article again. I don't read German well, but I can make out that the author of the article states the EKI and DKiG are "konnte nicht verifiziert werden" (could not be verified).

                Thanks!

EDIT: I see a different Karl Keil of 3./Kampf-Geschwader 53 received the DKiG in 1942 ...

Hi Schupo........I intend to post here on the 57er section, Nigel has said that will be O.K.
I will post at the end of the week, the uniform comprises of four pocket grey service tunic and charcoal trousers piped in green arm of service, with loops for single RK bar & two separate ribbon bars......however the bars are sadly not present, I am awaiting some ribbons to make a replica bar.....until I can hunt down the originals !..........here's a taster image of the set.
                            Prost ! Steve.
