    DSB in Gold

Thought I would share what arrived today. Not technically a 57er though they appear often enough on 57er ribbon bars.

Very well marked on the reverse:

    GES. GESCH. DEUTSCHER SPORT BUND
    STEINHAUER & LÜCK, LÜDENSCHEID

    Best regards

    Nice one Pierce!

Based on the finish, catch and overall quality, I'd say it's an early made piece. It surely has a solid hinge block. I like it very much!

I'm looking for a bronze version to go along with the Ulrich DK, medal bar. I've got one in my sights, just need to pull the trigger.

Thanks Mike. I am glad to hear that it is an early made piece as this is what I was hoping for and thought myself.

Pull the trigger Mike, these are nice and quite well made little badges!

      Best regards

          Hi Pierce
Might not be a 57er, but they often turn up in vets groupings etc.
Going by the hardware, it looks typical for an S&L piece dating from the early 60's!!
Nice piece, are you looking for silver and bronze too, or do you have them already??
          Thanks for showing!!!

Thanks Nigel. Not looking for Bronze or Silver at the moment. This one was a bit of an impulse buy to be honest.

              Hi Pierce,

They are very nice. I have one in the Mahlke group. Just pristine and glowing. Your pin is a little thinner than mine at the top though.

              Regards
              Rudy

From examples I have looked at they do seem to age well. Thanks for the comment Rudy.

                  Hi,

this is really one of the early badges.
There is one like this in my collection, with award document, cloth patch and case from 1954.

The first badges from 1952 are a little bit different:

                  Uwe
