The matter has been settled and Tom has been banned.

He had two offenses, multiple user accounts and lying about his age. Each one would lead to being expelled. Both together were simply too much.

He is apparently a troubled young man. My hope is that the disciplinary action will have a redemptive affect and he will change his ways.

I don´t know if he has some problems or if he´s a fraud but i am happy that i don´t agreed to his offer for a very nice BW-Affenjacke from the 50s. From what i can see i maybe would have never get it

I wonder, if this guy would have made a fresh honest start on this forum, without his multiple accounts and lies, would he still have been kicked out?

I mean, is bad behaviour on other forums a reason for being expelled from this forum (just a general question, not relating to this case)?

Also what is the difference between "suspended", "Banned" and "Expelled"? I have never really understand the difference.

I remember for example seeing several famous 3 reich collecting personalities with these different punishments such as Robin Lumsden and Christopher Ailsby (both now expelled).....by the way, what did these two guys do to deserve being expelled?

Hi Karl!!!
I think the fact that Tom had more than one account and more than one user name was, on its own, reason to expell him, as that is strictly against the rules, but let me say, that the decision to expell Tom was'nt taken by Mike or myself!!
Bad behaviour on another forum would'nt in my opinion be reason alone to ban someone from this forum, but i guess if the offence was serious enough, it could lead to someone not being wanted anywhere?
A lot of the members here, are also members on other fora, and if something happens on one forum, i think its hard for someone to ever really leave it behind!!
Personally, i am sad to see Tom leave, he had great enthusiasm, and was very helpful with info etc.

If someone is suspended, then that is a temporary thing, usually for a set number of days! Expelled and banned, are i think, pretty much the same thing, and both usually permanent, though anyone has the right to appeal!!
There is a lengthy thread in the collectors community forum about Chris Ailsby and the reason he was banned, for Robin, i think it was no one thing, but a series of suspensions for various things that lead eventually to him going too?

Really ? his enthusiasm was for a reason..he had to ingratiate himself to you and the other members here on this forum, just has he had done on other forums...after all he was just a kid...look at his early posts, he has not much of clue....his information was gleaned from other forums, his Plagiarism was rife ! He was no expert as some of you thought...he was just a clever arse with a computer, (hence the trouble he caused on one forum) and was good on research, as most college kids are....that's the problem with a lot of forum users they are to dependant on asking others when the information is out there to be found, Crossley knew where to look ! this forum is better off without him..believe me !

If you're sad and surprised it shows his web of lies has worked. A liar and scammer has no place on this or any forum.

He's been gaining everyone's trust under false pretences and made everyone believe he's something he really isn't.

Thank you for bringing the situation to our attention. The appropriate steps have been taken. The internet makes the world a rather small place.

While I'm glad we found out, it's never enjoyable to witness the demise of a fellow human. I only hope Tom gets the help he needs to grow into an honest, mature and responsible man.
