    The One That Got Away...

Or, better said, the one that you just haven't been able to get your hands on.

This thread is here to give you the opportunity to talk about the piece you've been after, but just haven't been able to lay your hands. I think we've all got at least one that piece that though we've put maximum effort into getting it, has eluded us.

Maybe, through this thread you'll discover someone else has your magic piece and you can make a deal. Maybe it'll just be a good chance to "vent" and blow off some steam from the frustration not being able to get it has caused.

When describing your Holy Grail, be as specific as possible, so we all know exactly what it is you're after.

So, let's get to it, scream, shout, cry, plead, beg or whatever you wanna do about that elusive bugger that gives you nightmares at night.

I'll start with my most desired piece. I've long wanted an FJ RKT mini-medal bar. They're more rare than almost anything I've sought over the years. What could provide the pinnacle of my FJ collection? Yeah, that!

Hey Mike!! Great thread, though i thought it was about that old film starring Hardy Kruger, as a German POWMV5BMTcyMDcxMzE2Ml5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwNTU2NTkxMQ@@__V1__SY317_CR4,0,214,317_.jpg
Theres a few pieces that have eluded my grasp so far............ one being a screwback Deumer EK1!!!!
    But i'll keep looking!!!smiley-chores008.gif

Good idea Mike . Although first I assumed you started a thread on ex-girlfriends

I've been hunting these two pieces for years now ... so far no luck ... .

+ 1957 Knights Cross - St&L - "B" frame with magnetic core - with "800" mark on the bottom arm

+ 1957 Knights Cross - Schickle - with "835" mark on the bottom arm

Luckily I could already tick off two other things from my wanted list this year .... Deschler DKiG and St&L KC with "B'" frame + swastika core .

For me it´s a RK group of an u-boat ace
It seems that these are all in collections and will never come up.

@ Rüdiger .... that is indeed the one I'm looking for . I'm willing to trade against another similar "B" frame if you want, but can't give up the Pinkepank KC ( sorry ). Let me know what you think.

              2 things for me.

              1. 57 RK belonging to Helmut Mahlke. Plus his other ribbon bar, foreign medals and uniforms.

              2. Just found out yesterday, a WAF member, has the very early bronze and silver BKA medal. The exact same version I have in gold. Oh well!!!!! Since he only needs the gold I don't think I can get both.

              Regards

Thats a good idea Mike, and an easy question for all of us.
But sometimes a dream comes true.
Sooner or later, it is only a question of time.

I am looking for a named Eichenlaub ribbon bar.
