Well Tom, not bad for the beginning
A very good start. Surely some pieces can be upgraded and in the meantime you can always have a look on your beauties.
Do you want to go mainly to Kriegsmarine or is there no special section?

Keep on your good work.....it´s worth it

          Hi Tom!!
One of each will make for a great looking collection, but i think most of us here started like that, but we all seem to have found our own favorite area of collecting!
I'm not saying that will happen to you but.................
Dont be surprised if you wake up in the middle of the night with a sudden urge to collect EK's or Luft or KM or.............you get the picture!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good hunting with whatever you decide to go for!!!!!!!

            I can only echo Nigel.

I too was collecting every 57er that i could find. Fro KM to Heer up to LW and some civilian like Luftschutz and so on

            It was really that ...

            - i never saw a chance to get that all complete
            - the market was in move - pieces were harder to find, prices rised (but slowly)
            - as ususal money was/is limited

So i decided to go only to KM. It took me 3 years to complete only the ususal KM awards and i am still not really finished as an early Hilfskreuzer is still missing.
But nearby i collect KM ribbon bars and minis and if possible.....DK and RK bars from KM and Heer. And of course i´ll finish my KM wartime display with the missing awards, luckily these are always on the market

I have much less stress now with that hobby. It was really that i got stressed about finding nothing or i found too much and money was limited that i had to let pass some pieces. These days are gone

I haven't made a choice yet about what to collect.
I still wait for the moment that I will wake up in the middle of the night with a sudden urge to collect

                  Some very nice additions
I like the Deumer IAB the most and in your case I would get rid of the numbered PAB.

A small collection is getting bigger and bigger.
And I know that there is already a nice FJ badge heading your way

                  I can't agree more.

Nowaday's it is hard to find any good early 57's.
I also have many gaps and they missing items are almost impossible to find.
It is frustrating when you search for hours and hours and hope that you will only "1" piece that fills one of the gaps only once every few months.
And if you find something, you must be on top of it, otherwise you are too late or have to expect to pay rediculous high prices.
It is so frustrating that I had many moments I did stop collecting 57's.
But there were always people that kept me in this field with items or questions that I came back every time.

Nowadays I only check the recources only once a week and only hope I will find something. Last week I did get a sickpin and a war merit KC. But this week all my efforts were for noting
It doesn't frustrate me anymore if I find nothing a I am patient and I just admire the stuff I did get in the earlier days.

Collecting must be fun, not frustrating!

                      Then you have me!!!!

I love collecting 57 items - all of them. I have no particular specialty. And I'm bad, once I get started on something, I really go for it. Although, I do love my TR Kreigsmarine items which I continue to collect. I have a decent size minesweeper collection. Now I have reached my spending limit and have to sell some items to my regret and just focus on certain things which I still have to decide. I'm going to get rid of my IAB's this weekend and my pilot badge just to pay for items I have on layaway. My diplomate patches will go as well and I love them.
Oh well, everyone warned me when I first started - Rudiger was the first to tell me I believe.
                      By the way Rudiger........????????????????
                      Regards
                      Rudy

                        Ha ha, sound like me.
I am also a pretty uncoordinated collector.
I still hope that I will get more focussed but I just have problems with parting some stuff (even the ones I have double).
And I STILL don't know where I have to focus on

Ah, good old Rudiger warned you. Seems you didn't listen well
I think he will be back soon. He most likely drunk may beers to try to forget yesterday.

My budget forces me to have to razor focus on what I collect and what I leave for others. Sadly, it's always the first factor.

After that, it's availability, which as Luud states isn't in our favor these days. 57er's weren't produced in the numbers their TR brothers were, so finding the good stuff can be a lot like work (edit) make that a labor of love!

Fortunately, we have our group here and we all help each other finding pieces, paying for pieces and so on. It helps each of us build our collections and it's built an unbreakable camaraderie that is something quite unique in my experience. Our band of brothers is something very special.

Tom, some nice additions buddy! Both very collectible items! lI'll take that MG34! I'll trade you and S&L Glider for it!
