Hi Luud! Thanks for showing this one, but what a puzzle???
Starting with the obverse, is it a match to either S&L or Deumer, i've been trying to compare the dots etc.?? The laurel leaves seem to lack detail and look very soft in appearance, and there seems to be a lot of dings, dents and scratches around the helmet.........
The reverse is just as confusing, the pin is upside down, with the pressure foot on top, but it does show wear, as if it has been the right way round at some point? Confusingly, there is also a mark on the body of the badge where the pressure foot has rubbed, but on the body, it looks as if its been covered over with a later gold finish???
Could you tell us the weight of the badge please Luud, and what about size, that might also help!!
Lets see what the other guys think before i go any further!!!!
An interesting one, thats for sure!!!!!

I like puzzles, especially when they are solved
I can't find my measuring equipment but the size looks similar as what could be it's wartime brother.

                      Hi Guys,

Luuds GWB is a denazified unmarked 30 Hauptmünzamt. ( the circular stripes on the reverse is also a typical mm30 trademark)

I would say that the engraving looks modern, and the guy put the pin back on the wrong way.

                        Hello

Funny to meet each other over here again.
I guess Mike's good karma is to blame.

Also you have to be where the interesting badges are.
Very interesting badge you show Luud.
I agree with Karsten that it is probably a denazified Gold VWA made by maker 30 in Wien.
They did a very good job because you hardly see it.

I post a pic of my wartime buntmetall Hauptmünzamt gold badge.

Maybe my memory is failing me but wasn't this badge part of a big group with a golden CCC with broad pin, Luud?

                        Best regards

To be complete i'll also post the reverse of that wartime badge.
I has a broad pin but you can see the concentric circles on the reverse.

It must be due to Mike's Karma because if my memory is as good as yours, I remember that someone would ignore my threads before he made sure that I have no access somewhere else.

But good to see you again alive and kicking

You are right about this badge being part of a bigger group.
There is nothing wrong with your memory
A good friend of mine put the EK1, KvK1, KC and the WB of this group for sale a few years ago. And before he had the chance to put the rest for sale I was already in my car to drive to him and bought all the 57's from the group. He sold all the wartime awards to another friend of him but kept the golden wartime CCC himself.

The date on the back mentiones 25-10-1943 while the documents mention 20-10-1943 as the award date.
Maybe the 25th was the date he remembered that he recieved it.

I will show you a picture where I compare the finish of this WB with the CCC from the same wearer.
BTW: Both the denazified golden WB's in post 9 are both from the same wearer.
He got wounded 10 times, so maybe he wore them together

I have had both '30's and '4's in the past, but I honestly never saw a difference between them.
But I have to admit that I never really was into the wb's but kept the ones that came in a group.

Here is for example a S&L with a pkz number 4 on the pin and I don't see huge differences.
