    57'er 40 Year Long Service

Found this on a dealers site today.

Think it's the first one I've seen with the wreath.

Ribbon looks to be a period one.

I saw this one myself Wayne. I have never come across one with wreath attached.

I am not sure if I ever saw one, thanks for showing.

The medal is IMO not early made.

One of the members thinks that this item was possibly made 70's to 90's.

Bit hard to judge just from those couple of photo's, but neither the gold finish or the detail on the medal look like those on a very early piece??
i dont know if its as late as 80's/90's?? but it could well be 70's!!
Still quite a scarce medal, especially in the 40 year version!!

What I would like is to have in hand is the wreath. I'd like to see the back of it.

              Hi Wayne,

I'll bite, what is your interest in the wreath in particular?

I would like to compare it to the closed and open wreaths of the TR era.

To see if there are any similarities between them.

There is a thread on here that I have seen where Frank Heukemes indicated that the open type wreath was also used during the TR period.

A lot of people do not like the open style wreath saying they think it is from the 57'er time.

                  Got it. Sounds logical.
